Overseas property purchasers are heading to Menorca in record numbers thanks to a law which allows UK vendors to sell to UK purchasers in pounds sterling.
At present 95% of properties on the island are re-sales and 75% are sold by English vendors. There are minimal local fees which need to be paid in euros but these can be explained and settled by lawyers acting on behalf of the parties involved.
I have been given the position of Moderator at the International FIABCI Amsterdam Congress later this month, to discuss the after effects throughout the World of the US sub prime mortgage crash.
There will be a panel of three who will give their opinions, it is then open to the floor and the moderator will finally sum up the subject - these forums are very popular and promote lively debate.
The EU has given the go-ahead for new routes for Cyprus in 2009. This is good news for investors - especially as Ryanair and Easyjet are two of the airlines interested.
